Unfortunately, many children are abused, manipulated, intimidated, alienated and denied the emotional, mental, physical and economical/financial support from their mother/father because of Domestic Violence.
In ignorance, "the abuser" will use the children as a weapon to hurt "the abusee", not realizing that he/she is hurting the children, placing fear in their innocent hearts.
Sadly, many "abusers" will pressure and terrorize the children into doing and saying things that will hurt "the abusee", using visitation to harrass, witholding finances to punish, to force "the abusee" into doing what "the abusee" wants him/her to do, including threats to take the children away, threats to harm the children and threats to hurt or take away the things that the children love, like their pets, favorite toys, etc.
All too often, the children of domestic violence are used as pawns by "the abuser" to control and manipulate "the abusee" into staying in the abusive relationship and this leaves the children "shattered pieces" traumatized, emotionally scarred and socially withdrawn because of the things that they have seen, heard and feel; including their own hurt, pain and guilt they feel because somehow they think that every thing is their fault and depression and condemnation sets in.
If you are reading this message and you have heard the silent screams of an innocent child; it's time to break the silence! It's time to stop ignoring the silent screams! It's time to stand up and speak up!
