I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD
Read: Leviticus 18:1-2
Leviticus 18:1-2, And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God.
I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD
Exodus 6:7, And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
And I will take you to me for a people ~ Psalm 100:3, Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 2 Samuel 7:24, For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.
Confirmed is to be firmly established in a particular habit, belief, or way of life and unlikely to change their ways. Psalms 1:3, And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
When you plant something, you place (a seed, bulb, or plant) in the ground so that it can grow. When it's time for that seed to break open, the roots will spread out, they will settle into the soil and that seed will become grounded (established in the soil) so that the stem can have an anchor. Then it's strong enough to carry the water to the stem, to the branches and to the leaves so that the fruit can grow and the flowers can bud and blossom, releasing a beautiful fragrance that fills the morning air.
If you plant apple seeds, you will produce apples. If you plant roses, you will produce roses. If you plant love, you will produce love. If you plant hatred, you will produce hatred. If you plant forgivness, you will produce forgiveness. If you plant unforgivenes, you will produce unforgiveness. If you plant God's word, you will produce God's word. Matthew 4:19, And he (Jesus) saith unto them,
Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
John 1:1, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. When you accepted Jesus Christ into your life, as Lord and Personal Savior, a seed was planted inside of your heart. That seed is the same WORD which was at the beginning. That seed is the same WORD that was with God...
and that seed is the same WORD that was God.
John 15:1, I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Jesus is the true vine and His Father, God, is the Gardener. We are all branches in God's beautiful Garden, brought to the Father by the Son. Thank You Jesus!
John 15:2, Every branch in me (Jesus) that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. We are fruit bearers and the word clearly teaches us that if we do not bear fruit, the gardener (God) will remove us from out of HIS garden because we are of no value to Him, The branch is dead, the leaves are gone, it's fruitless, it's empty and it serves no purpose.
If we are bearing fruit, God will purge us. In a garden (a person's heart) if you don't pull the weeds out at the root, they will choke the roots of your flowers, fruits and vegetables and eventually your flowers, fruits and vegetables, will whither and die. (spiritual death). If you pull the weeds up at the roots...they can not damage the roots of your flowers, fruit or vegetables and eventually the flowers, fruit and vegetables will blossom and fill your flower bed and trees with a variety of colors, shapes and sizes.
When God purges us, He is removing all of the weeds from His Garden, (which is our hearts) the roots of bitterness, the roots of hatred and unforgiveness, the roots of rebellion and disobedience, the roots of lying, jealousy, envy and strife.
The roots of gossip, slander, deception, depression, worry, the roots of sexual immorality, the spirit of perversion, pornography, fornication, adultery, incest, child abuse and homosexuality, anger, murder, divisions.
The spirit of whoredoms, gluttony, spirit, soul and body prostitution, idolatry, wordliness, love of money, lust of the eye, lust of the flesh and pride of life, etc.
God will get rid of everything that serves no purpose.
God will get rid of everything that is of no value in our lives.
He will get rid of everything that hinders our Christian walk, all those things that prevent us from walking worthy of the vocation, that we have been called. God will get rid of every person, place and thing, that is deterimental to our spiritual growth and development. So that we might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:10.
When the gardener purges his branches, he is removing and cutting off everything that is no longer needed, so that he can make room for the new fruit, vegetables and flowers that are going to abundantly blossom. In comparison, when God is purging us, He is removing the weeds out of our heart, those things that are no longer needed. People places and things that we have outgrown.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 tells us that, to every thing there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
Do you know what season you are in?
